South Florida Auto Show

The South Florida Auto Show is a yearly event held at Miami Beach, Florida, and is now among the largest and most prestigious in the nation. The date varies, but is usually between the last week of October and first week of December. It is a 10-day event that gathers nearly 1,000 of the newest models from more than 40 car manufacturers, and an average of 650,000 viewers from different regions.

Some of the car manufacturers give attendees and viewers a sneak peek of the next year's models. Aside from that, the event offers seminars dedicated to teaching people about car safety and other important information.

Thanksgiving

One of the most important yearly Holidays celebrated in the US is Thanksgiving. Dating back to 1621 when Plymouth colonists and Indians shared an autumn harvest feast to give thanks for a successful bounty of crops, this tradition has been kept through the years and is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. Although most businesses are closed on this day, this is followed by the most active commercial day in the year known as "Black Friday", when big department stores open as early as 7:00 a.m. for the Thanksgiving sale when people are able to take advantage of great discounts and start their Christmas shopping with excellent savings.

If you come during these days, early is the name of the game. Make sure you book your flight and stay early since the airlines and hotels are very busy and for the best shopping deals make sure you arrive to the stores as early as 7:00 a.m. though some people start the lines outside a couple of hours before.

Jewish Book Festival

South Florida is known to have plenty of Jewish restaurants, stores and temples. It has also a huge Jewish community. This is why the Jewish Book Festival is held at Miami, and it takes place at various locations, starting October 27-November 10, 2008.

The Festival features a variety of subjects and authors, highlighting the best in Jewish writing. It also offers books from different genres, photos and essays to give visitors a better understanding of the Jewish people as well as their culture. This is a sure big event for the bookworms and literature buffs.

The Miami Short FilmFest is an annual festival in Miami, which was founded last 2001. The festival is committed to supporting independent filmmakers from different countries. Screening of flicks will be held at theaters.
